I am a one man business,  based under Richmond Bridge in central Richmond on the Thames, next to Tidetables cafe.

I studied sculpture at Falmouth school of Art, graduating in 1986. My first job was as a technician at the British Council, packing artworks, framing and organising exhibitions/events like the Venice Bienalle. I went on to work for a scenic sculpture company, familiarising myself with a variety of materials and techniques such as fibreglassing, polystyrene carving, mould making and large scale constructions for film and TV.  I continued to hone my skills while working for an interior design company, making and installing bespoke peices for places such as the Mirabelle restaurant, Vivienne Westwood's shop and the Irish Museum of Folklore to name a few.

I have long had an affilliation with boats, starting with a part-time job as a student on a fishing boat in Cornwall. I progressed to living on a 56 foot dutch barge in Brentford for a number of years. I have been primarily concerned with boat building and boatfitting for the last 30 years and used to help run a small boatyard on Eel Pie Island, repairing wooden craft, before moving to my present workshop under Richmond Bridge. One of my most enjoyable working moments around this time was fitting out the interior of David Gilmore's recording studio, a Victorian barge 'Astoria'.

My varied employment history and arts background has given me an excellent knowledge of working with different materials to a high standard and, where necessary, a creative approach, meaning I am able to offer skills in problem solving as well as carving, mould making, fibreglassing and carpentry. This, coupled with my love of a challenge, makes me well suited to the idiosyncrasies of boats.

I like to work closely with my clients to develop a good working relationship and complete trust, I will endeavour to listen to your needs and visions and to make them a reality.
